Growing up in east Tennessee and then moving at a young age to southwest Virginia I wore my orange with pride always. Being able to move back here several years ago was a dream come true for me. But what happened? I know I will make some UT fans mad but I need to get this off my chest before the Dooley era starts in Knoxville tonight. Who is to blame for the fall in Knoxville? I challenge anyone to go and search Tennessee football and read what is in wikipedia. Has everyone forgotten all that this program has been since 1891? Tennessee is and has always been one of the best programs in the country right? Or is this looking through orange lenses all these years? I'll admit I was on the get rid of Fulmer bandwagon, and I still think he was done but why did we go out and get Lane? Can anyone tell me what this guy has done in his career that would have made Tennessee or any other program look at him. Is this the best we could do? Or did we just jump on the first name we could find? It was a desperation hire just like the coach we have now was. Don't take this the wrong way because I think in general Dooley is a good man but when I have to google someone to see who the hell UT has hired as our football coach something is wrong with our program. I just want someone to explain what has went wrong. I really hope Dooley is the right guy, but I don't feel strongly about it. Every time anybody says anything about Hamilton they throw Bruce Pearl in your face. Tennessee is and always will be a football school we need to get the tradition and swagger back to what it once was. All the old guys want to bring up General Neyland and yeah he was great and help build Tennessee to what it was notice I say was. Don't anyone forget that Neyland won 173 games over his career and 4 out the 5 National Championships but Fulmer won 152 games and 1 National Campionship and Majors added 116 victories for the Vols. We need names like this again in our program guys who when you say the name people know who they are. I hope Dooley becomes that and I support him all the way, but I just don't think he will be here that long successful or not. Denard Robinson was really exciting for Michigan. A year and a half ago Mark was diagnosed with Ewings Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. He went through a year of chemo and treatments and has been told he is cancer free and was cleared to play this coming Saturday in BC's opening game, ironically on 9-4, ironic since Mark is number 94! Mark is an amazing athlete and the work he has done to raise money for charity and research into cancer is equally amazing!!
